[Publib] Displaying Reserved Items

At my Wisconsin library we don't wrap the holds at the branches where we
offer open hold shelves. We put the first four letters (or fewer if
their name is shorter) of the last name and the first two letters of the
first name. We were leery of going with the open holds for many of the
reasons already discussed, but have had few problems. Patrons can opt
out and have their holds behind the desk if they choose.

I was one of the skeptics, but find I really like the combo of
self-serve holds and the self-checkout when I just want to pick up my
holds. Of course there are occasional glitches with the self-check machines.
