Huh. Perhaps I should have tried that. My IRA is now worth less than half
what it was in Oct. 07.  Except for the funds  I moved last year into a
"global" investment (which is paying almost 5.5%) it's hemorrhaging.
Oh, and the retirement fund I from when I worked at the uni here; it's more
conservatively invested, so it's only lost 40%. So far.
So I guess my current state pension and SS will have to take up the slack,
huh?
Early retirement, if I take that route, is less than a decade off for me.
