The Fremont Area District Library in Fremont MI has checked out cloth bags
for a few years now. Our Friends of the Library purchased some imprinted
canvas bags from Janway. The bag states the library's name and the fact that
the Friends of the Library sponsored the bag. The library purchased luggage
tags and placed a barcode inside the tag. Patrons can then check-out the bag
along with their books. We decided against charging fines for the bags to
allow people to easily renew them without worrying about a fine.
It has been well received - although we have not given up on plastic bags.
Some of our patrons still seem to want the plastic bag so that they don't
have to keep track of it.
Anyway, Janway was very helpful in imprinting both the bags and the luggage
tags.
Hope this is helpful,
Ray Arnett, Director
Fremont Area District Library
