I believe that Europeans are cracking down on this as well. I've lived in
Germany, Belgium, and Italy, and travel to Italy frequently. This is purely
personal observation, but it seems the number of dogs out in restaurants is
much lower than it used to be.
Of course in Europe the concept of a dog not being regularly bathed is
almost unheard of. They also are much better behaved than many adults and
children.
Things are changing all over. My goodness, you cannot even smoke in a
restaurant in Rome anymore.

How in the world do people in Europe survive? Dogs are everywhere -including
malls and restaurants! I guess Europeans don't have allergies!
Just an innocent observation...

We don't have a problem with patrons bringing in their pets. We do have a
problem with them leaving their dogs tied up right next to the front door.
We have patrons who are so frightened of dogs they will not enter the
building. I can't imagine what would happen if they encountered one in the
library.
My husband and I used to own a Quiznos and had a staff party at our home.
Our dog was in the backyard. One of our employees would not go into the
kitchen because that is where the backdoor is.
Perhaps because my husband is allergic to cats I am hyper sensitive to
bringing animals into public places. I would not want to be responsible for
someone's not being able to breathe due to their allergy to my dog.
