We use the more recent books as prizes for the adult reading club. We sell them in the Friends book sale. I know that the covers say, "not for resale," but as I understand it, that means that a book store cannot sell it as "new." (And, be realistic: what would Random House or Doubleday do if you sold an ARC? Sue you?)

Subject: [Publib] Advanced Reading Copies
Hello,
I'm a new director of a small town library, the acting director before me, was including Advance Reading Copies of books in the current collection. These copies were donated to the library by the local bookstore. I have pulled the books for the time being, but I'm not sure what to do with them. Plus I have another box full of them. So the question I'm posing after all this background info is... What does your library do with these books?
