[Publib] Book Identification Needed

I'm sending this out to the greater mind -
 
A patron called today.  He's looking for a book he read over 40 years ago.  He thinks it could have been written between 1935 - 1955.  It is a mystery book.  It has a gray cover with a small gold dove (the size of a thumbprint) on the front cover.  No dust cover.  A name that comes to mind for him is "Dorothy Miles Disney."  He remembers that this mystery took place in New England and it ends with a chase scene that winds down in a cemetery among grave stones.
 
Patron has tried Powells, used book stores, chat rooms and other places with no luck. Any ideas? Patron would be eternally grateful.
