The results of this poll were not surprising to me at all.   Infuriating yes, 
definitely, and as many put it....it scared  the hell out of me.  


One thing I noticed here is the tone of many of the responders'  comments.  
Quite a lot of mingled hope and fear on all sides.  The  thing that bothers me 
about these candidates is that they never have any sort of  stance about 
libraries other than the usual warm-and-fuzzy stuff.  I'd love  to see one of them 
take a position on federal support or mention something about  the Library of 
Congress.  When you consider how many libraries there are in  the country, and 
how much mention there is of schools and education, the  omission is glaring 
indeed.
