We don't have a written policy for aiding patrons about filling out
online forms. Whenever a patron asks about writing a resume or cover
letter, my colleagues and I will refer he or she to the relevant
materials in the Business & Tech Division.
We don't provide assistance to those filling out online employment forms
and such and tell patrons that if they inquire at the desk. I'll tell
patrons that I'll get them to where they need to go on the web and
they're on their own afterwards. A few times I've suggested they
contact the company directly.
If they're not familiar with using a computer, it's also a good
opportunity to mention our free computer classes.
