Two years ago, when I was doing my internship in the campus library, the
reference librarians kept a tick sheet with a grid of the type of
questions that were received at the desk such quick, moderate, and
extended.

 

When I worked in the History & Biography Division here at MLK Library,
we'd write down the subject topic that patrons asked for that day in a
notebook.
