This is my favorite signage story. It happened at another branch in our system. 
 
The computer lab was shut down for the day due to network maintenance. The doorway to the lab had a large poster board sign on a tripod saying "LAB CLOSED" obstructing the entrance. There was no way to get into the lab without moving the tripod. One ingenious patron found a way, though; she crawled under the tripod to get into the lab and sat at one of the non-functioning computers. Then she got upset that they weren't working.
