[Publib] What's the point of Google's new Web browser, Chrome?

Dear Colleagues,

You may have heard that Google recently released the beta version of a 
new Web browser called Chrome.

Is this just another browser or does it have a point that differentiates 
it from other browsers?

My colleague, Kathy Rippel, received an emailed link to a blog essay by 
a software architect
who answers that question.

P.S. I also heard an interview on NPR in which the guy said that Chrome 
was slightly faster than other browsers.
My own experience with Chrome seems to substantiate this observation.
