[Publib] Fw: [ifaction] ALA releases statement on Alaska book banning controversy

Quite often ALA makes me want to tear my hair out (and my hair is very short
these days--that would be painful) and yet this is one of those times when I
am proud to wave my ALA card. This response strikes exactly the right note
and is carefully balanced.

I am sure Sara would join me in saying let's not insult one another about
our religious beliefs or anything else (cookie preferences are fair game...
though honestly, if I'm going to get rhapsodic over a cookie it will be my
pine-nut macaroons... a batch of which I'll send to anyone who builds us a
Wikipedia page based on the material from our PUBLIB website and anything
else they can gleam). We're all librarians and we need to get along and
respect one another. And not be so quick to make assumptions!
