I have no intention of politicizing the listserv, and am not interested in pushing a particular partisan agenda via publib, but since a library user has asked the following question, and while I think the answer is "no," I wanted to ask the members of the list, since I really don't know the answer:

"Mark, is there buzz in the Library community about Palin's attempt to oust her town's library director? I don't personally know whether this is true; it's just circulating on the Internet":
"While Sarah was mayor of Wasilla she tried to fire our highly respected
City Librarian because the Librarian refused to consider removing from
the library some books that Sarah wanted removed. City residents
rallied to the defense of the City Librarian and against Palin's
attempt at out-and-out censors hip, so Palin backed down and withdrew
her termination letter. People who fought her attempt to oust the
Librarian are on her enemies list to this day."

The author listed on the email making the rounds on the Internet and containing this paragraph is listed as being
