Dear Colleagues,
The following is for those librarians concerned about libraries
supporting democracy by providing information for making political
decisions.
Last night I read an interesting article on FactCheck.org called "That
Chain E-mail Your Friend Sent to You Is (Likely) Bogus. Seriously."
This article analyzed political chain letters and provided seven
characteristics of chain e-mails tending to contain false information.
Some of you may want to pass this article on to your voting citizens.
I use two political fact checking Web sites.
* http://www.factcheck.org/
* http://www.politifact.com/
Though I probably favor FactCheck because I have used it through two
elections,
I also find Politifact's "Truth-o-meter" and "Flip-o-meter" amusing and
their "details" interesting.

Chris Rippel
