Is anyone looking at the new product Recorded Books is coming out with
for downloadables? We had a short presentation from our rep yesterday -
the product won't be ready until November, if then, but it's a lot
cheaper than Overdrive...

Our consortium uses OverDrive and we have been very pleased.
Every now and then there are glitches, but the support staff have been
very quick to resolve problems (for the most part). They've been a good
company to work with and project manager is terrific!

If you think OverDrive is clunky, give NetLibrary a try.
It's a nightmare.

As a patron, and a techie, I can say that I really hate
Overdrive. Sacramento Public Library uses it (California), and it's a
very clunky, confused, and outdated-feeling system (even just the
software overdrive requires you to download). I don't know anything
about NetlLibrary.

			Fellow Publibbers,

Overdrive versus NetlLibrary: which is best for
your library?

The audio ebook "industry" is in flux, and I am
not sure which one of these audio digital companies will acquire the
most accounts.

I would like to hear from libraries that have
gone through the selection process .

Can you offer any insights as a basis for
discussion? I have not seen any recent postings on the PUBLIB
archives.
