My vote goes to:
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I can not remember the last
time I read a work of fiction that was able to make me laugh out loud on one
page and sob uncontrollably on the next. I'm not a fan of racing, and was a
little unsure about reading a book written in the voice of a dog, but this
is a book I will reread..and it will be the book that I "gift" for Christmas
this year..it's that good.

One of my favorites that I read this year although it was published a few
years ago is Between the Bridge and the River by Craig Ferguson
Published this year (I think anyway):
When You Are Engulfed In Flames by David Sedaris
The Girl From Foreign by Sadia Shepard
In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
I am drawing a blank on the fiction side. guess I read more non-fiction this
year!
