Dear PUBLIB folks, we'll have more info in a couple of days, but as a
reminder, this particular ALA Salon should be very interesting, all things
considered.

U.S. right now)

Greetings!
On Friday, November 21st we will hold another of the monthly ALA Connections
Salons. The topic for November is -- you guessed it -- political
connections. Staff members from the ALA Washington Office will be our
special guests. Details are below. There's no need to register. The main
discussion will last about an hour, with plenty of time afterward for
informal discusions.

*Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time, 1:00 Central, noon
Mountain, 11:00 a.m. Pacific, and 7:00 p.m. GMT/UTC/Zulu*:

*ALA Connections Salon: Political Connections with Guests from the ALA
   Washington Office*

The November installment in the series of ALA President Jim Rettig's ALA
Connections Salons will be a free informal online discussion with staff
members at the ALA Washington Office. With the national elections behind us,
we will discuss how the election results could affect national information
legislation, policies, and initiatives affecting library users, libraries,
   and library-related organizations.

Like European discussion salons, the ALA Connections Salon provides a
relaxed environment (online, of course) where ALA members can participate in
formal and informal discussions centered around a timely topic.
