[Publib] The Day After

Just to keep this on-topic: Most library issues succeeded yesterday. Not
all, unfortunately, but most...
Anyway: Did anyone else see what I saw at precisely 8 p.m. Pacific Time (11
p.m. Eastern Time) on ABC? Just before the hour, the anchorperson said they
wouldn't be making any overall declaration until the polls closed in
California, Oregon, Washington. Then, on my TV set, there was a brief
interruption--maybe a tenth of a second--as it turned 8:00, and they
declared the election for Obama. (Basically, even though it was always clear
California and Washington would go for Obama, TV had agreed never to call a
state until its polls closed.)
That flicker was really interesting...well, that and Fox News' intransigence
on Florida until considerably later in the evening, keeping it in the
Undecided column for a couple of extra hours.
