[Publib] Paying for computer printer copies

The company that supplies our photocopying machines also furnishes printers, paid for by a separate debit card or by putting money on their library cad. (The library card has a magnetic strip which accepts the information on how much money the borrower has put on it.)

The library gets a percentage of the money users pay for printing and photocopying. And we're one of the few libraries whose photocopies and computer printouts are still only a dime a page.

Subject: [Publib] Paying for computer printer copies

Hi,

The manager that is responsible for our Computer Lab asked me to ask this question.

Right now, when someone wants to print something out, they buy a print ticket at the Circulation Desk and use that to buy the print. They wanted to know if there is any system that would make this a more efficient system. Something like using a debit card or a vending card to pay for prints. Any suggestions would be appreciated

If anyone wants to reply off list, e-mail me at twirick at erielibrary.org and I will summarize for the list.

Thanks in advance.

Terry
