If my candidate does not win, then I will do what I have been doing for the last eight years. I will spend a little less time to listening to the news station on NPR and a lot more time listening to the classical music station. Classical music is orderly, harmonious, and calming. I will need the stress relief.

Meanwhile, I won't contemplate moving to a foreign country. It's not practical. Besides, a real patriot is not somebody who blindly supports his or her country, always flying his flag and wearing his lapel pin and saying "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance. A real patriot is somebody who believes that you have the right to criticize provided you have the heart to help. A slogan I saw everywhere after 9/11 was "These colors don't run." It referred to America's military might. I think it also applies to people whose party loses an election.

Stick around and do what you can to make things better. Keep voting. If you're right, the electorate will eventually come around to your way of seeing things.
