I love my job because I get to work with kids who are still
forming their own opinions. I get to expose them to new books
to read. I get to convince them that there really are good
books out there to read--we're still looking for "yours," why
not try this one?
Being in the middle school and now the high school I am even
more aware of the changes in maturity that takes place as they
grow. What a cool thing to watch.
I love that I get to interact with the students on a totally
different level--I don't give grades anymore, (used to teach
English) but I can be your best friend when it comes to
research. My "homework" is reading new books to keep up with
what is out there to recommend to my "regulars" and the
occasional "strays" who wander in just because they: "Have to
have a book/Just give me something." My favorite phrase is
"You know that book you gave me? It really is good!"
Oh, and the occasional spirit week with pajama day sure is
fun. :)

Subject: [Publib] Friday Question
Hope you all are enjoying as beautiful a day as we are here in
NW Ohio.
I have asked this question once, but would like to get additional
responses. Why do you love your job? What makes you passionate
about
what you do?
Thanks. Looking forward to reading your responses.
