While I was in library school, an undergrad LS student who I knew did a
unit on LC classification for a class of local senior high school
students for her school media practicum. The students came to our
campus library, she taught her unit, and they did an activity on it. I
thought that was a good idea.
It's sad that there are college freshmen who don't know how to do
research when they arrive at college. They can have fantastic SAT
scores and academic transcripts, but how well were they taught to do
research. Even if they took AP classes, how many of them did research
papers? My thoughts...
