[Publib] Children in Adult computer areas

I try to handle it diplomatically. Get some children's books and give them to the child. That way you communicate that there is an issue--to the parent and to other patrons as well and that you want to help. Some libraries keep toys handy just for this reason. Sometimes adults need a break, too. We don't know what else is going on in their lives--and it is a PUBLIC space.

 Can anyone share procedures on computer use for arents/caretakers in
 ladult computer centers? How/when does the computer center
 attendant/librarian approach the patron with the screaming child,
 especially when the staff member has received annoying looks rom other
 computer users?
