We are looking into buying security cases for our cd and dvd
collections. We are thinking of the Clear-Vu cases but would love to
hear some feedback from other libraries who are using this brand or
others?
TIA as always. Wish I could be at PLA....

Subject: Re: [Publib] Jobs?
Look, I like my job, which is surprisingly cutting-edge kewl for a
little old librarian of the advanced age of 50 (research and development
of emerging technologies), but if I *could* retire in my early 60s, I
certainly *would.* I have a long list of things I'd rather be doing than
going to work every day. I hope the economy allows me to retire young
enough ("young" meaning not much over 70) to enjoy a good ten or fifteen
years of whatever life offers me in that phase of my life. However, I
have a bad feeling that the "rough patch" in our economy will translate
to keeping me in the saddle much longer than I'd like.
It's frustrating when you're job-hunting and there ain't nothing out
there, but there's a lot more at play than the doddering old fools who
won't yield their jobs to the young'uns. I also look at the real
change-makers in library technology, and they defy demographic
categories; they're constantly seeing new things. Not only that, but
some of the young librarians who appear to be so forward-thinking won't
seem that way in 20 years, when you realize that they're thinking the
same stuff they did when they were fresh young lads and lasses out of
library school. Curiosity and adaptability are more valuable traits than
any passing interest in the latest neato tools.
