Hello All,
I am new to this List Serv, but as an MLS student and Librarian In Training at a public library, I'd like to learn more about 'clustering'. This topic just came up in a regional List Serv, to which I belong. I am lacking in positives when I read about shelving reference materials within circulating non-fiction, for instance. Patrons believing they can check out a reference item because it was shelved within circulating materials, seems to upset the circulation flow.
Also, I am curious, because the idea of clustering seems to be linked to a subject and genre classification, such as in a book store. Are there two different schools of thought when it comes to clustering?
