I work in an army library that is very echoey. To cover up noises there
is a fountain that runs and music that plays. The music is the digital
radio that is commonly played in stores and restaurants. We are limited
to the acoustic stations that play songs without lyrics. So it is like
listening to elevator music all day. This drives staff (mostly me and
the other younger people) crazy, but I haven't heard of any complaints
from patrons. It does a very good job of covering up sounds made by
staff and patrons.
