Introduction to Preservation
When: April 17, 2-4pm Eastern Standard Time, with follow-up classes on April
24th, May 1st
Have you been assigned preservation tasks but are unsure what to do? Are
you looking to find some easy ways to protect and preserve your library and
archival materials? Introduction to preservation will help you understand
why materials deteriorate, teach you some easy ways to protect them, and
promote preservation actions by staff and patrons. Preservation is
everyone's responsibility!

Introduction to Grants for Preservation
When: April 18th, 10am-noon Eastern Standard Time
Are you thinking about applying for a Preservation Assistance Grant? Learn
more about this grant as well as other preservation grants through SOLINET's
Introduction to Grants class. This online class is an introduction to grant
funding and the process of writing a grant proposal. Topics covered include
types of grants, preparing to apply, elements of a grant proposal, and tips
on grant administration and a brief overview of the most common grants
awarded to archives, libraries, and other cultural institutions in the
United States.
