The Downers Grove Public Library keeps current and past newsletters on
our web site too. You can see them here:

And the metal pin thingy that attaches my watch band to my watch broke a
couple of months ago. I procrastinated about getting it fixed and
discovered that not wearing a watch is actually a wonderful thing. The
whole rhythm of the day changes when you aren't constantly looking at
your watch. There is a time display on my office telephone, and in the
corner of my computer screen, so I can be aware of the time when I need
to be to for meetings etc., but I find that I am only monitoring the
time when there is a reason to do so. If I don't have any appointments
in an afternoon, I have learned to just work without thinking about the
time. I am always surprised when others start leaving for the day, and I
feel like I get more stuff done at work. It makes a difference on time
off as well, I find that I seem to spend as much time as I need doing
things like reading, yoga, dog-walking -- sometimes I spend more time on
an activity, sometimes less, but the it's the time that "feels right"
rather than the x number of minutes that I would allocate for an
activity in the pre-watch days. I did find myself obsessively checking
the time on my cell phone in the airport when I was traveling last
weekend, which really made me aware of own much more relaxed about time
I have become otherwise. So, even if we can't do away with all of the
clocks, I heartily recommend going watch-less!

If you have to get old, you may as well become eccentric too.

Our programs are on our website.
Adult: http://www.lakeco.lib.in.us/happenings.htm
Juvenile: http://www.lakeco.lib.in.us/happeningsjr.htm
These pages are essentially copy/pasted from our Happenings newsletter
which
is distributed at each agency and mailed to a select few.
We also have a searchable "Events Calendar" but it's really clunky (part
of
our Horizon ILS).
