We interfile our African American fiction and each has a yellow "African American" spine label. Our patrons love it, and circulation is up. This is done in the Children's and YA section as well. While good cataloging is necessary, not all of our fiction readers use the catalog; many prefer to simply browse the shelves or ask the staff for specific authors.
