We have a separate African-American collection in our reading room. This
collection was in place well before I was transferred to the division.

The collection is in a corner of the room near the reference desk so I can
easily direct patrons to the books. (Most of them know where it's located)
Some of the authors can be found in the general collection. All of the
books are fiction. Patrons who need non-fiction have to go to the Black
Studies Division. I do see plenty of traffic and circulation especially on
the urban fiction books.
