Marv's LibVibe piece was 'déjà vu all over again'.  Listening
to the county administrator reminded me of many arguments that
I have heard over the past few years.  

I think it would be a GREAT project for the GSLIS students on this
list to do a budgetary analysis of the past five years 
by Marathon County.  I would look at aggregate costs for IT by 
Marathon County and increases in police, fire, and public education.
Contrast pay levels for all of the non-masters degree holding staff
to the masters level librarians.  Many of the jobs requiring only a
high school diploma and a gun or a hose most likely pay more.

A project like that would not only look at the contrasting pay
scales, and issues surrounding the profession - it would also be
a wonderful exercise in locating public records.
