BWB does have what is called "prescreen". It is quick and painless. The
ISBN is scanned or typed in. The title and bibliographical info comes up
quickly with "Accepted" or "Rejected". That saves us from sending on
titles for which there is no online demand. Sometimes I have been
surprised as to what is accepted or not. We prescreen most of our
donations. Those we can send on, we do. The others we save for a
semi-annual book sale. We haven't been doing BWB all that long, so the
jury is still out whether we recoup enough to make it worth the time. I
believe the ability to prescreen has increased the amount we are
receiving. We have only been doing BWB about 9 months at this point. The
prescreen process is simple enough a volunteer could do it easily --
provided they can/will come in whenever there are books to screen.
