Who is George Elmore?

Does he matter? Is he influential in Gainesville?

Does the public library director need to have a long lunch with the editor of the Gainesville Sun? (Sounds like s/he might).

This sounds like the usual "taxpayers rights" windbaggery, and I see that the readers' comments attached to the story point out the obvious (to us) defects in the writer's arguments, but still...  

Even in a college town, there are no guarantees for public libraries. A PR campaign would seem to be in order.
