I believe I saw something on the same thing recently. It seems to be with
the newer style copiers that have a 'computer' built into them to queue
jobs. Our Xerox machines all have this feature, which is a little
worrying.......

I saw something on this a few months ago in the media. Copying machines
often employ the same technology. So if customers make copies of
driver's licenses, social security cards, etc., those images may be
captured.
Apparently, identity thieves are buying up old printers and copiers at
auctions with the intent of capturing stored information.
