Whether an item is leased or not, unless there are drastic differences between a leased item and one that's been bought (i.e., same publisher, same edition), there's no need to catalog a leased copy differently from one you've bought.
We used to differentiate between leased and purchased copies by giving the leased books a special collection code. However, since we have migrated to Polaris, that step is no longer necessary. We indicate a shelving location (usually the new book shelves) on the item record.
