We are not closed MLK and I don't think PA has any "special" holidays -
unless you count Fausnaught Day (PA Dutch version of Fat Tuesday).

We are closed New Years, President's Day (In house training), Good Friday,
Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day (Volunteer Training),
Thanksgiving, Christmas eve and Christmas.
We have no personal days or floating holidays, but I am going to ask my
board for one for my staff members (they deserve it).

Subject: [Publib] Holiday Closing

Today is Casimir Pulaski Day, which is a holiday in the great state of
Illinois. The Chicago Public Library is closed so we'll get phone calls all
day from patrons checking to see if we are open, which we are.
Our library is also open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is a national
holiday with the caveat that the United States has no national holidays
since states designates holidays by executive order or through their state
legislature.
My question is do other libraries in Illinois close for either of these
holidays, or if you're from another state, are you closed on your unique
state holidays?
Just asking...
Deb Beasley
