Supervising Librarian - Santa Barbara Public Library.  Under direction
of a manager, plans, organizes, coordinates and supervises reference,
readers advisory, circulation, and youth services. Includes working with
the manager to supervise, train and evaluate professional and
paraprofessional staff. Serves as supervisor of a busy full-service
branch library and bookmobile, performing sophisticated reference work
as well as general patron assistance. Professional library work may
include program planning and implementation, participating as part of
Library Department administrative team, collection development and
evaluation, volunteer program coordination and committee work. Other
professional responsibilities may include: cultivation and maintenance
of community contacts; public presentations, evaluation of
collection/patron needs, interests, and requests; and other work as
required. An availability to work some evening and weekend hours is
required. The ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.
Current vacancy exists as supervisor of the Goleta Branch Library and
Santa Barbara Public Library System Bookmobile. Experience in providing
reference services and in supervising personnel is highly desired. This
