I like paper for most pleasure reading because it's easy to annotate --
which rules out library books! -- but the "bathtub" justification isn't very
strong. First, you'd have to sit in a bathtub until you were puckered in
order to do any deep reading. Second, how many of us really want patrons
dragging books into big tubs of soapy water? Third, bathtub use is on the
decline.
Sorry, had to get literal on this point. ;-) Perhaps the gas crisis will
encourage the U.S. to invest more in light rail and encourage telecommuting
-- both of which would contribute tremendously to our ability to read mo'
bettah.
I'd write more, but I'm on vacation and am about to spend a couple of hours
curled up with a book and a loaner cat!
