We are still purchasing, but not to the same extent as the
past. Many of our older patrons prefer the cassettes over CDs due to
ease of use (not having to find the track again as they have difficulties
with the LCD readouts on many CD players). There is probably a comfort
level of use for them also. They don't like change and thier Cassette
Player still works.
So, for their benefit we
still get best-selling titles on both CD and Cassette, but very
selectively.
Hope you see sunny skies soon and get out from under your umbrella!

Subject: [Publib] audiobooks on cassette
Happy Friday from the
rainsoaked Midwest! Please gather under the umbrella and let me know
what you think about audiobooks on cassette. In particular:
Do you still collect new audiobooks in this
format? Have you kept your existing cassette audiobook
collection or have you chosen to withdraw this format entirely (and if
so, when did you disband it)? If you continue to have such a
collection, what's your rationale for keeping it? When do you
anticipate not carrying cassette audiobook collection any longer?
Thank you so much....and please help yourself to a
towel!
