Our library is no longer buying in cassette or adding gift cassettes to the collection. Any damaged cassettes are withdrawn from the collection, while damaged CDs are usually replaced. We are due to be renovated in the near future and I would not be surprised if all cassette format are withdrawn when time comes to pack up the collection for the temporary move.

PS Send the rain down here to Central Texas, we could use it! Burn bans in all counties.

Subject: [Publib] audiobooks on cassette

Happy Friday from the rainsoaked Midwest! Please gather under the umbrella and let me know what you think about audiobooks on cassette. In particular:

Do you still collect new audiobooks in this format? Have you kept your existing cassette audiobook collection or have you chosen to withdraw this format entirely (and if so, when did you disband it)? If you continue to have such a collection, what's your rationale for keeping it? When do you anticipate not carrying cassette audiobook collection any longer?

Thank you so much....and please help yourself to a towel!
