[Publib] audiobooks on cassette

Hello from hot, dry, southeast Georgia.
Yes, we still collect audiobooks on cassette.
Many of our audiobook users live in rural areas with unpaved roads and CD's
won't play or they skip and jump when played, and, many of our audiobook
users are truck drivers (big trucks, garbage, logging, 18-wheelers of
various and sundry sorts) and they tell us that the vibrations of the trucks
keep the CD's from playing well (particularly, you understand, when driving
said truck on said unpaved road).
A patron who lives in another county and drives a garbage truck told me that
until she found that I had the cassettes (her library only collects CD's)
she got most of hers by buying from eBay...

Subject: [Publib] audiobooks on cassette

Happy Friday from the rainsoaked Midwest! Please gather under the umbrella
and let me know what you think about audiobooks on cassette. In particular:

Do you still collect new audiobooks in this format? Have you kept your
existing cassette audiobook collection or have you chosen to withdraw this
format entirely (and if so, when did you disband it)? If you continue to
have such a collection, what's your rationale for keeping it? When do you
anticipate not carrying cassette audiobook collection any longer?

Thank you so much....and please help yourself to a towel!
