[Publib] Sending "Cold" Resumes-Thanks!

Many, many thanks to everyone that replied to my question regarding sending "cold" resumes. Now I know to never put my resume in the freezer. Opps! Sorry, my sinus headache medicine got the better of me. Seriously, I am grateful for all of the tips and advice offered.  I think I have thanked everyone off-list, but if I missed someone..Thank you! I will be taking each suggestion and putting them to use.
Some of you asked why I was asking the question. Simply, because my advisor is an academic librarian and has that mindset. He strongly discouraged me from submitting "cold" resumes. I just needed to hear from a public librarians POV policies and procedures re:hiring.
