Denise,
Are you saying that everyone can expect much cheesier results from
Google than Cuil?

So normally when I Google myself (with actual Google) I get a result of 9
out of the first 10 hits that are actually me. When I search any of my
other family members I only get recipes, but then when your last name is
Ricotta, well, you can see why 9 out of 10 is so impressive. But this
Cuil.com was not so cool, I went two pages in and could not find me. Not
only that I only saw 2 recipes! Mostly all I got were San Francisco area
restaurant reviews. It doesn't make my list.
If you want see some really cool search results try www.spacetime.com
<http://www.spacetime.com/> You'll have a hard time going back to just
plain 2D Google - I swear!

Interesting. I did the same and found my picture but it was connected to a
linkedin profile for someone at Microsoft. Had to go 4 pages into the
search results to get anything even related to me. At least it's our
library system site but there's no mention of me on that page.
I think they've got a few bugs to work out.

Has anyone checked out this new search engine at cuil.com? I had a really
strange experience with it. After playing around with it I googled myself.
(Surely that term still works for other search engines.) Usually when I do
that I get links to things related to my current job or my previous job,
much of it due to things like board meeting minutes online and newspaper
articles.
The first several pages displayed in my search were my various postings to
lists like this one, all the way back to a post to featherweight fanatics in
1995. Most of them were postings to publib and inpublib, and many were
accompanied by a photo of a woman I have never seen before in my life. In
fact one of two women I don't know.
So if you search for me on Cuil, don't think that is me you are seeing.
Very weird. :-(
