John, one of a school maintenance man's jobs in the summer is/was to 
put another coat of paint on the chalkboards. The paint actually does wear out.

In developing countries, chalkboard paint is used to paint pieces of 
cardboard for teachers to write on.

And, if I remember correctly, you want to paint multiple coats. One 
coat isn't very satisfactory.
