Jumping in a bit late on this question...
May I suggest that people with reference-type questions seek assistance from Project Wombat (http://project-wombat.org). Project Wombat is the successor to the Stumpers list, which lost its library school-based host about a year ago.

Hello,
I had a patron looking for a book that he started reading years ago, but never got the title for. He said it had a character named "Henry Moran". It was set in England during the time of Queen Elizabeth (don't know which one). He also said that the main character was trying to avenge the death of another character by the name of "Candlamas Pitt" (not sure on the spelling). It also had the English army in the story. I really appreciate any help. Thanks!!
