We will not input customers' personal information, as in job
applications, typing their resume for them, applying for a credit
report, etc.
We will show customers how to find resume sites, store their resume on
line or e-mail to themselves, etc. However, we do not actually do any
of the work for the customer. Rather, we talk them through while they
do the actual entry. They seem to understand better this way.

Well if they start taking up serious time on a drop in basis, more than
5 or 10 minutes, I help some and let them know that on Fridays we do one
on one lessons for 1&1/2 hours and I can give them much more time.

Subject: [Publib] Staff Assisting Computer-Using Patrons
I was wondering if there are any libraries out there that have a written
policy in place as to how much staff assistance is given to patrons when
they are using the computer. Are there specific things that you will
not
help them with? This includes when they are using a word processing
program, as well as doing anything on the internet.
Thanks in advance,
