[Publib] Looking for a book title

"The book was about a girl and a boy who were at school one day. There was a
mist or fog and they ran into it. They were then transported to another time
period and are put into training. They go through the rigorous training and
she some how turns herself into a boy. Then when it is found out that she
has magic she tries to use it to help the people she trained with and maybe
not be able to return home."
