[Publib] Re: Spine labels

I would think twice about getting rid of dot matrix printers in Tech.
Processing.

A few years ago, when I was Head of Tech. Services in another library, we
were migrating from Classic Dynix to Horizon 7. I anticipated leaving dot
matrix printers behind after the transition. The Dynix trainer talked me out
of it. He recommended I stay with the dot matrix printers because they are a
solid technology that allows you to print one or multiple labels on demand.
If you are using sheets of labels through an inkjet printer, you have to
batch a sheetful of labels for each printing or manipulate your printing to
match with unused labels on a partial sheet. Life is far easier with the
older technology.

Subject: [Publib] Re: Spine labels/Cleaning books

Thanks for all of your help with regard to spine labels. We decided to order
some labels from Demco and download a template and will be using computers(
yeah!). Now if I can only get rid of these dot matrix printers...

On another note, does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the top,
bottom and sides of the pages if they're very dirty?

Thanks again.
