[Publib] PUBLIB Midwinter 2008 Get-Together Announcement!

Midwinter 2008 get-together! 

WHEN: Friday, January 11, 2008, 6 - 8 p.m.

WHERE: The Independence Brew Pub, in the Reading Terminal Market across the
street from the convention center http://www.independencebrewpub.com 

WHO: All are welcome: PUBLIB subscribers, followers, spouses, friends,
public librarians and library workers, non-public librarians, non-workers,
retired librarians, vendors, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Linus Torvalds,
journalists, bloggers, ALA office candidates, and people who think
librarians are "hot." 

We've been doing this get-together for almost as long as we've been a
discussion list, which is a long, long time by Internet standards - since
1992. ALA Annual 2008 in Anaheim will be the first time the Polaris
Innovation in Technology John Iliff Award will be awarded, and I hope as
many of us can attend the ceremony honoring one of PUBLIB's co-founders
(Jean Armour Polly, the other co-founder, was a major force behind making
this award happen), and that our get-together in Anaheim is extra-special
nice. Meanwhile those of us at the Independence Pub on January 11 can have
an early celebration.
