REMINDER: Two Feb. 4, 2008 Call Deadlines

1 ) Call for Nominations and Applications for the 2007 Research Award 

(Awarded Spring 2008, NJLA Annual Conference) presented by NJLA CUS/ACRL NJ Research Committee 

  

To recognize excellence in the research efforts of New Jersey librarians, the Research 

Committee of the NJLA College and University Section and the ACRL New Jersey 

Chapter seeks nominations and applications for its annual Research Award to honor 

the best published research completed by a New Jersey librarian during the past 

year (2007). The Award will be presented at the NJLA Annual Conference between 

April 29 and May 1, 2008, at the Ocean Place Conference Center, Long Branch , NJ . 

  

All types of research published in 2007 will be considered, including books, journal 

articles, bibliographies, and electronic publications. A New Jersey librarian practicing or 

professionally active in the New Jersey library community must be the author or co- 

author.  Doctoral dissertations and master’s theses are not eligible; however, publications 

based on them will be considered.  Individuals may nominate themselves or a colleague. 

  

Please submit to the Chair a letter of nomination that specifies the evidence for and the 

significance of the original research. A copy of the publication in either electronic or hard 

copy format should accompany the nomination.  Please include an abstract, if available.  

  

2) Call for Papers for the 2008 Research Forum 

(To be held at the Spring 2008 NJLA Annual Conference) 

  

To promote research by New Jersey librarians, the Research Committee of the NJLA 

College and University Section and the ACRL New Jersey Chapter seeks presenters for 

its Research Forum to be held at the NJLA Annual Conference between April 29 and 

May 1, 2008, at the Ocean Place Conference Center, Long Branch , NJ .   

  

New Jersey librarians who are involved in, or have participated in, any type of research 

project are invited to give a brief presentation of their project during the Forum. 

  

Please submit your application including: Name, Address, Telephone, Email, Title of 

Research, and Abstract of 150-200 words that specifies the significance of the research to 

the Chair.  Email submissions are preferred. Those selected for presentation will by 

notified in March 2008. 

  

BOTH submissions are due on Monday, February 4, 2008 and should be sent :
